Knitting a wrap and its stich, purling a wrap and its stitch
Hi there, I would be ever so grateful if someone would break it down for me in very simple terms how to knit a wrap and its stitch together and how to purl a wrap and its stitch together. Iíve read the article from knitty.com but I need detailed explanation of how to actually do it. I think I was able to get the purling side done Ė but only by luck you see, as Iím not sure if Iím doing it right. The knit part, when I do it I donít seem to be working the wrapped stitches, but just accumulating wraps on one stitch, resulting in the purlside looking good and the wrapped stitches on that side decreasing, while the knitside has a giant bump and the wrap stitches are not decreasing. So if you understood all that and can break it down for me how to get this done I would so very very happy.
There is no right way to knit; there is no wrong way to knit. So if anybody kindly tells you that what you are doing is "wrong," don't take umbrage; they mean well. Smile submissively, and listen, keeping your disagreement on an entirely mental level. They may be right, in this particular case, and even if not, they may drop off pieces of information which will come in very handy if you file them away carefully in your brain for future reference. ~Elizabeth Zimmerman
