knitting boards?

I saw a knitting board in a catalogue and wonder if this might be good for my young niece who is having difficulty learning how to knit. Also my sister who recently had a stroke is doing physical therapy with her hands and I'm thinking this might be something for her to work with. But I've never seen anyone use a knitting board. Could someone give me information on it and your thoughts on whether this would be useful for the two individuals I mentioned. Thank you.

Those looms and knitting boards would probably be a good thing for your sister and niece. Your sister could probably use something to keep her busy, work her hands like therapy and your niece would enjoy learning something new. I haven't seen a lot of stuff on the internet about them, but I'm sure it's out there. Some other KH'rs use them.
