I'm into everything but the cons. That's not to say I won't go if invited by someone with a ticket and I'd have a good time, but I not the type to go out of my way to get to a sci-fi con.
I love Asimov, Roddenberry, Ursula le Guin, Huxley, Lovecraft, etc. My all time favorite is Douglas Adams. I don't know if you count this as sci-fi but I also love Tolkien.
As far as Trekking is concerned, I've been a Trekkie since I was a little kid in the 60's. My favorite ST series is TNG, with DS9 coming in at a close 2nd.
The Star Wars movies are ok but I wish the acting and diologue was on par with the special fx. I haven't seen the new Hitch Hikers Guide but I loved and taped the wonderfully surreal BBC TV broadcast that was on PBS. Huge 2001 fan, own it on tape and DVD and saw it 10 times. Hated 2010.
I'm sure other things will come to me.
