I won't be using Lincraft sock wool again, it's on a par with Patonyle 4 ply - splits very easily and is 'fluffy' . Not sure how it will wash, if it is anything like the Patonyle...

i've done one sock so far and am not in a hurry to do the second.

Looks like I'll have to do them whilst I watch the cricket...

Hi Aussies

This seems like a decent sale! Going out of business...

Hi everyone,
I'm in Cronulla, Sydney. I hadn't knitted since my children were babies, so for many years knitting didn't exist for me. Then three years ago I had my first grandchild and started tentatively knitting for her.

That snowballed... I fell so in love with knitting baby clothes that I haven't stopped since. What a lot has happened since my younger years of knitting!!! Now there is so much choice in patterns and colours, and I love the art of playing with colour schemes and making baby clothes that look modern. I knit most days, year round. But I stick with baby things - they're so cute and they're quick! Problem is, what to do with them? So apart from gifts for friends or family, I sell my knits on eBay.

I buy most of my yarn from eBay UK. I find it so much cheaper than I can buy here, even including postage, and the range is much bigger. But if you give it a try, be warned that its addictive. My stash is taking over the spare wardrobe, spreading under the bed too - I think its breeding!

Ummm, I thought I had posted here but I can't find it so I guess not...
I'll be studying abroad in Australia next semester !!! I'm obviously not Australian (I'm Iowan) but can I join your fun anyway ? I need some inside tips on where to go. I'll be studying at the University of the Sunshine Coast (Sippy Downs, north of Brisbane). My $$$ is limited so my explorations of the country will be, too , unfortunately, but I hope to at least get up to the Great Barrier Reef (found out I was probably going halfway through my dive certification and nearly died from joy ... found out I was DEFINITELY going the day after I completed my certification and literally cried from the excitement ). And, hopefully find some nifty lys's where I can pick up whatever the local fave yarns are.

Victorian Vixen Here!
I reckon the possmerino looks brill too. they need it in more colours though before I'd fork out that much. anyone tried it?
anyone know of LYS's in CBD Melbourne area? I rely too much on lincraft (yeah, their site does suck, the stores are allright though) and my backup is the spotlight near home.
