Plz help with cloak pattern
I have just tried looking for a cloak that I would like to be floor length (so for me about 4'6") preferably with a hood, I was unsuccessful
I did however find some wonderful shawl and wrap patterns but not really what I am after. If I can't find a pattern then plan on trying to make it myself I am thinking that I should do the cape part in 2 or 3 pieces slowly decreasing on my way up and 2 pieces for the hood, if anyone has already done this then plz plz tell me how you did it, so new to knitting that I can barely read a pattern let alone make up my own. I am also not really sure on what type of yarn to use, I mainly crochet doilies using crochet cotton, I would like the stitches to be small so that from a short distance it is hard to tell if it is knit, so may use a size 3 or 4 needle, does this sound remotely right? I am looking for something along this line http://www.thehorsetailor.com/images/CloakBackfixed.gif
Any suggestions will be helpful, I feel if I start now I may have it done by Harvest Moon or at least Winter Solstice.
