Yet another question about "the bag." Actually, it is about felting. This is my first felted project and the felting instructions tell me to insert the bag into a mesh bag or a pillow protector. I'm feeling impatient this evening or should I say, so eager to felt, and was wondering if that is necessary. Wow, I've been a little impatient with the whole bag. <sorry bag

It's good to put the bag in a pillowcase--it protects the washer and I think probably helps the felting since the bag is rubbing against itself. You can use a regular pillowcase and tie a knot or use a hair tie to hold it closed. The hair tie might be better since you have to check the bag and wet knots are hard to get out.

Detergent isn't essential, but if you want you can add a tiny bit of ALL. Throw some jeans in with the bag to aid in the felting/friction, and use the hottest water available.
