It's finally finished!!!
I wanted to make a lace christening shawl for my new grandson, something that would be an heirloom that his bride might also wear on their wedding. And I don't remember why, but I wanted to knit it out of very tiny yarn and unreasonably tiny needles.
Having never knitted lace before, and considering that my skill level is not at the shetland lace level, it didn't turn out too badly.
Don't look too close at the pictures, there are lots of errors, but as I told my daughter-in-law, what it lacks in craftmanship, I made up for in love.
I'm just so glad that it is finished, I've been working on it for over 3 months. It's been frogged countless times, and I am excited by the prospect of knitting socks, booties, or anything that isn't lace!
