Blocking Acrylic

I know that blocking acrylic won't work for the purposes of changing the shape the of fabric, but will it help to even out stitches and some of the other things that blocking is good for? I guess I'm asking if anyone out there blocks acrylic and how much good it does? Since acrylic is washable, do you just wash the garment and lay it out? Or do you block the same way you block other fibers?

I just wash it according to the instructions on the label. That's worked well so far!

I wouldn't bother with all the time it takes to block it. Just wash and dry it and it should help.

Okay, good. that is what I thought. How about washing befoe seaming? Or just seam it all up and then wash it?

Okay, thanks for the tips! This is the first acrylic sweater I have made. And I am used to being able to "hide" my inconsistencies with blocking. :-)

Washing acyrlic will do the same thing.
