How To Knit?

Hi , i'm very new to knitting , instead i don't know anything about it , Is just that i tend to finish my studies and have alot of free times , and I thought of making a scarves for my girlfriend.

So i hope that i could find some help here, on how to knit, how do i get started, what equipment or tools that i needed and so on.
