Increasing stitch x3

Working on afghan, pattern calls for K2 tog;K10; K3 in next st; k10 etc.
I need to know how to K3 in next stitch. Thanks for all your help!

knit the st, then without taking it off the needle, knit into the back of that same st, then without taking it off the needle, knit into the front of that st, then move all that to the other needle. May be a little tricky and tight, takes a little getting used to. Maybe practice it 1st with some scrap yarn.
