Can I make these using Silver's Tutorial?

I would love to make these. I have completed my first sock on Silver's, almost finished with the second and would like to make a few pairs of these as further practice (and for myself) but the pattern doesn't hand hold through it like Silver's Tutorial (which rocks!) so my question is can I work this just like Silver's Tutorial, which explains when and how to move the stitches, etc? Ack - Am I making any sense?

I don't see why not. You just don't do the ribbing at the top or less of it.
