yarn
is there a difference in suede yarn and velvet or is it still the same. i want to make pillows and it calls for velvet thanks maggie

If the yarn is the same thickness and gauge, you can use it. The best place to compare yarns is at www.yarndex.com .

If you know the name of the velvet yarn you can get information on it and compare it to the suede yarn.

For a pillow, though, it's not that critical that the gauge be exactly the same.
