KathyinCali, can you share some photos of the blanket with us?

We need some Oddball Blanket Porn!

You can throw in some notes about your yarn and knitting stitches too, since we need to hear all the juicy details.

The blanket arrived yesterday! Kudos to UPS - one day delivery and everything is intact, including the journal that's hiding underneath it in the photo. Kathy included Knitting Girl socks and a keychain sock blocker minisock with pattern for me. Thank you, Kathy!

I've attempted to make the colors as true as possible in the photo. The yarn I'm planning to use is the skein at the top. I've had it for 20 years or so; in fact, I think it's been discontinued. It's acrylic that I bought at a hoity-toity needlework shop in Charlotte a couple of lifetimes ago, and it's been either in my cedar chest or a Rubbermaid tub since then. A second skein is mostly gone and I have absolutely no memory of what I made with it.

The lower blue stripe is a cadet blue; the upper is green; my yarn is teal and should work well against the lovely dusty rose that Kathy added.

Can you tell I'm excited to have the blanket? :rofling: I oohed and ahhed over it for ten minutes or so when I first lifted it from the bag. I made my SO admire it - he was impressed, btw.

ok, zipping my lip and posting the pic.

click on the photo to see it larger.

Thank you! Twenty years is long enough to stash yarn, doncha think? :rofling:

The blanket is gorgeous! You don't realize what a wonderful thing it is until you hold it. I nearly wept - but I'm perimenopausal. It'll be an emotional Sandy who receives it back when it's ready for her to finish.

I'm considering taking it to my LYS this Saturday and encouraging them to start up a charity blanket or two there on-site that people can knit upon when they visit.

Yay! The blanket is making an impact on US as well as the person who will receive it when it's complete!
I'm glad you're enjoying your time with the blanket, Sis!

I am indeed!

Kinda creepy that blanket #2 is on its way to Ginger in California and blanket #4 is on its way to San Diego. I'm thinking that the rest of you may call us The Three Fates. Send us numbers 3 & 5 and no one gets hurt. :rofling:

I was wondering who would notice that first!

It IS funny that all the blankets are migrating to California at the same time, isn't it?!
