need help reading a repeat ** in pattern Ballet wrap top
Patons C4664 by coats crafts

I am knitting a ballet top for my niece and have a repeat instruction - normally I don't have a problem understanding this. here are the instructions

LEFT FRONT

rib row 1 (rs) *k1, p1; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2

rib row 2 *k1, p1; rep from * to end

**rep these 2 rows for 5 cm ending with row 1

I am not sure if I should be doing the k2 at the end of rib row 1 when I am repeating the pattern in a way it would make sense as it might be the edging as would be where cardi buttons would go but then I am not sure as I am thinking it might upset the rib pattern throughout.

I know I could contact coats, but it's the weekend and I would really like to get started on this.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated

You will repeat the K1, P1 all the way along the row til the last two stitches when you will K2 every time you repeat row 1.

Does that help?

thanks for that, so it won't mess up the rib pattern then?

You wouldn't think so but it's hard to tell without knowing how many stitches you're starting with.

ETA: Actually, as the K2 is at the end it shouldn't mess up the rib at all.
