FO: "Stained Glass" Scarf (and hat)

I made this for a girl at work, for her future mother in law. She chose the yarn, it is TLC Amore. The colors are Lagoon Print and Sand.

I came up with this pattern myself. I used double knitting for the solid squares, so where there is a brown square, on the other side it is just the blue. I used seed stitch for the border, and put in a few rows of plain old garter stitch in between the solid colors.
