OKay ladies and gents! This month, for most of us, will be an actual CHALLENGE. I'm also suggesting a similar project. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give this one a try; it's a cool knitting technique, great for stashbusting, and looks a lot harder than it is.
For March, I want you to try Entrelac. The pattern I am suggesting is
Danica from knitty , but you can just do a swatch if you want to, or another pattern alltogether (puppyluv knitted
this awesome wrap, Lady Eleanor, from Scarf Style). There's also a pair of entrelac socks in the new Interweave Knits, and I'm sure
Knitting Pattern Central has some projects.
Before you're all

and

let's anser a question: what *is* entrelac??? Well, we have a whole thread about it
here (Friskums and Dustinac have some pics there, too) and some discussion about gauge
here.
Basically, you're going to be knitting stockinette short rows to form triangles and rectangles that look like they are woven together.
The
yarnpath has a great tutorial on how to start (thanks Friskums for the link), and it is almost identical to the tutorial in Interweave Knits.
The tools you need are 2 or more colors of yarn with the same weight/gauge, needles appropriate for that yarn and maybe a row counter. All you need to know how to do is knit, purl, slip, k2tog, p2tog, and pick up stitches. Allllll skills we already have, OR have access to via Amy's videos.
Did I *mention* this project will be *ideal* for you stashbusters??
I'm going to start Danica tonight, after I buy yarn at Chix (I know, not stashbusting, but I'm weak, what can I say

)
This is a great opportunity for us to learn from each other, so let's all join in, shall we?
Happy xxx
