I helped my cousin stock several skeins of it in her shop (Cottage Yarn), and I could not believe how beautiful it was. It looks and feels almost exactly like Malabrigo, and the colors are so rich and true.
That's good to know. For whatever reason I always associate "Peruvian Highland Wool" with scratchy. I think I might have read about someone's experience with Elann's Peruvian Highland. I shouldn't make those assumptions, but since I buy most of my yarn online I am always looking for yarn reviews.
The cost is almost the same for the worsted weight Berroco Peruvia(.043 cents per yd. in 174 yd. hanks) and Malabrigo (.048 cents per yd in 215 yd. hanks).
Now I have two choices for yummy merino. When I want a more solid treatment, I'll go with Berroco Peruvia, when nothing but MMMM will do, then Malabrigo.
