Frustrated brioche decreases!
It is my third attempt to make the Brioche bodice from IK Summer '06.... no matter what I do, including a long time out from this project, the decreases for the armhole throw off the whole pattern. Any suggestions? Does anyone know how to get a hold of Katy Ryan, the pattern writer? HELP!

When you decrease on the edge of an established pattern, you need to figure out if you have enough stitches at the edges for a full pattern repeat. If you don't you can work stockinette for those extra stitches.

So if you have a 3 stitch pattern repeat, and you decreased 4 at the edges, you have 2 extra stitches on the next row at each edge that don't fit into the pattern. You can just work these in st st until you decrease the next time.

Do you think this fits your problem? If not, I'll see if I can find my issue of that magazine.
