A couple of questions
Does anyone know of a way to remove the coating from straight needles? I have a pair that the coating is wearing off of and now they don't slide well when I knit.

Also, if my guage swatch is too big do I use smaller needles or larger to get the right size?

I don't know about the coating. For the gauge swatch, a way to remember it is, if your swatch is too big, your needles are too big, so use smaller needles. If your swatch is too small, your needles are too small, so use bigger needles.

Try rubbing your needles with wax paper.

Thanks Nathalie, and Nikki.

I'll give the wax paper a try, and maybe now I'll be able to remember about the needle size.
