sockness
I put this here because I know I can make socks... in theory.

I want to atempt to first knit the front section of the sock and then the back.
perpose: to put laces in the sides of a just over the knee sized sock.

I know it's posible but if anyone can give me tips that would be wonderful. I will try to keep you updated on how they go.

Here is a pattern for socks that are knit flat....would that be what you're looking for? http://www.redlipstick.net/knit/ndlesock.html Or you could knit the leg of the sock flat, seam it, pick up sts, knit a round or two and then begin the heel.

Why does it have to be knit flat in order to put laces in?
