Do you know of any website where you can color in a chart the way you want the chart to be? Or like could i use graph paper and color in the squares?

Be careful with regular graph paper - knit stitches are rectangular, and depending gauge, rectangular knit stitches will come in various ratios (height of stitch vs. width of stitch). The ratio of regular graph paper is way off when compared to actual stitches.

If you simply chart on graph paper and then knit it, the final result will looked "squished".

You need Knitter's graph paper.

Several sites exist where you can enter the pertinent information for your project and graph paper will be produced, such as this one:

http://www.thedietdiary.com/knitting...tersGraph.html

or this one:

http://www.tata-tatao.to/knit/matrix/e-index.html

I'm not aware of a program which allows you to color in your own knitting chart and print it though, but it probably exists.[/url]

You can use MS Excel, and just adjust the row height/column width. Then you can color in the squares that way too.

I should have been more specific i guess ... I am doing the double-knit heart hot pad that Amy demos on the advanced techniques page for double-knitting. I found graph paper online and printed it off so i can just color in the squares with the knit-stitch color.

It's an amazing thing, isn't it? I love how it immediately makes a document you can save to your computer forever. I've made LOADS of charts with it.
