My Yarn Smells!

I bought some Boucle yarn (12 skeins) at the Dollar Tree. Well, now I’m beginning to realize why they may have been submitted there. They have a very funny smell to them. It’s subtle but it’s there and I can’t identify it. I checked and my other Boucle yarn (purchased elsewhere) does not have that smell to it. Unfortunately, I already threw away my receipt. I’m not thrilled to be knitting with it but . . .

Any suggestions for removing the smell?

Hi Wanda, can't you just take it back anyway? For a store credit. If it smells bad they should be able to smell it too and help you out. I don't know much about boucle, if you can wash it but maybe someone else does. I'd take it back though and talk to the manager.

Maybe I WILL try to get store credit - hopefully they won't be too strict about having the receipt!
