4-Year Old Girl's Chemo Cap - I Need a Pattern
The daughter of one of the members on my Bible study forum is going through chemo treatments and I thought I'd make her a cute girly chemo cap to brighten up her days. I'm still a beginner, so it needs to be easy and fast and I can also use tips on which yarn(s) to use.

Thanks!

This is the best link for chemo cap patterns and tips; there are a couple of patterns that are sized for younger children.

Here is a yarn tip: use very soft yarn! A lot of people who lose their hair can have very very very sensitive scalps. Therefore, some yarns can be irritating. The softer, the better.

Thank you! I don't have any kids, so I will follow the pattern, but have no one to try it out on. I will buy baby yarn.

How about Yarn Bee's Chenille like I'm using for my Textured Chenille Sweatshirt???????????

Here's an adorable Beehive Hat. I won't be making this one, because she wants pink, but it's cute nonetheless!

I found this one for a Chinchilla Hat, and it calls for Chinchilla Yarn. I've never heard of that. Is it soft? Affordable?

Here's a few yarns that would work or any soft yarn will do.
Knitpicks Shine - a nice soft cotton blend in pretty colors
Microspun I made a couple dishcloths from this and it's sooooo soft!
Bernat Softee Baby

Here's a few cute hats, but again any hat will do.

I created this one and it can be made any size.

Jan that bow hat is TERRIFIC, I think THAT'S it! I know any hat will do, but I'm picky. Yours is awesome! I don't know the little girl, but her dad told me via email that she's into pink & pink.

I love the little tie, I will make a couple of different colors so she can change it if she gets bored. You mentioned in that post that you would submit a more complete pattern, is this not complete? Can you PM me a complete one if not????????

I may have some questions about the pattern. I'm bad about directions, but I usually eventually find my away. Like I said, I don't have any kids, but I guess I can borrow one to try the hat on. Will your instructions fit a 4-year old's head???????? Will it get bigger when it's washed/blocked?

Sorry if those are stupid questions, I'm still fairly new at this.

I'm glad you like it!

I don't have a 4 yr old around to measure either. It was made with worsted weight yarn for this size so keep that in mind. I'll make one up today to make sure it's all good.
