start by visiting over at the KAL section, the 2007 Year of the Stash...there are LOTS of stash busting ideas, with "rules" to follow!!!

Asking this here is like going to a bar to ask how you can stop drinking. We're all a bunch of enablers here.

If you figure out how to stop buying yarn, please let me know.

You could make a hoodia (get it, like "hoodie"? I know, I know. If I have to explain it, it isn't funny...)

I don't get it. Why do you want to stop? I want at least one of each item, and I'm OK with duplicates of the really good stuff.

Maybe someday I'll do my Alexander the Great impression and sit down and cry because there are no new Knitting gadgets to purchase (OK, he cried because there were no new world to conquer, but you get the idea.

In an effort to cut down on my addiction I have started to limit myself to LYS and bookstore visits. I'm also determined to limit myself to no more than 2 projects at time and finishing one before I can begin another. I think one of the reasons I shop so much is that I see a pattern I want to make and am afraid I'll forget about it if I don't go buy the materials. To help with this, I have a nice list of things I'd like to make along with a color copy of the pattern so I won't forget. Kind of like shopping and collecting without spending way too much money at one time

Good luck!

That's how I did it. It doesn't work 100% of the time but for the most part I've been really good. My DH commented the other day about how long it's been since I've bought any yarn. I'm waiting until I've finished some or at least one of my UFOs, and when I do, look out Tangled Web, here I come.

I don't want to stop I need to stop. For the past 2 months I've been spending around $20-$80 each week on yarn or some knitting thing.. I'm starting to feel the effect of spending so much.
