One question from a newbie before I start my baby hat!

If it were not for this site, I would not be knitting, so thank you in advance for the help and advice!

I haven't knit too many things yet and am not proficient at reading patterns! This is what my pattern says:

"Pattern Stitch
Seed Stitch (multiple of 2 strands)
Rnd 1: *K1, p1; rep from * to end of round.
Rnd 2: *P1, k1; rep from * to end of round.
Rep Rnds 1-2 for seed st pat.

Hat
With circular needle and MC and using the long tail cast on method, cast on 64 sts. Slip marker onto right hand needle to mark beg of rnd. Join, careful not to twist sts. Work seed st pat for 4 rnds, then knit each round......"

When it says to "work seed st pat for 4 rnds" does that mean I will actually have 8 rows since it takes 2 rows to form the seed st?

Four rounds would be
Rnd 1
Rnd 2
Rnd 1
Rnd 2
then knit every round.

That is what the pattern reads.

You certinaly could do more seed stitch patterns if you want to, it would be lovely but the pattern only asks you to do four rounds. Each round is 1 row (so rnd1 and rnd2 are seperate rows completely).
