How do I get stockinette stitch with magic loop?

With circular knitting on 2 circular needles or magic loop on one long circular needle all you have to do is knit stitches with each round. Example: row1 knit around, row 2 knit around, row 3 knit around, etc. To get garter stitch with circular knitting you have to knit one round the purl the next round....

yeah you just knit stockinette how you would knit stockinette in the round, you knit every row.

Since you are knitting 2 sides of a Sock
you will be knitting as

if you are knitting 2 at once in majic loop you will be knitting
= =
you knit the top side - then -
then the bottom side _ then _
if the top sides are numbered 1 and 2 and the bottom are numbered 3 and 4
you will be knitting 1 then 2 then 4 then 3 then 1 then 2 then 4 then 3

does this make sense?

I should have elaborated on what I'm making.

I'm picking up stitches around a leg opening to make a cuff on a diaper cover. I tried just knitting but the purl side was on the outside if that makes since. I'm not sure how that happened

Undo the picked up stitches and flip the diaper cover inside out so the knit stitches are on the outside.
