OT- Lost everything...
I shut down the computer to fix the sound card, and loaded back up a bit ago...

Pulled up Mozilla...and ALL MY BOOKMARKS were GONE.

I had a knitting folder with links to all these patterns I wanted to try...OMG...I lost them ALL. I had to reimport from IE, and reorganize AGAIN!

Ugh.

You might have heard me scream about 20 minutes ago...sorry if I scared any of your kids or animals.

I hate it when computers start deciding what we need and what we don't.

I heard a scream... but dismissed it as a knitter having to refrog something... hugs... computers can be sooo frustrating.

ya, firefox makes archives of bookmarks everyday. I'm sure the file is on there somewhere. You might have accidentally signed on under a different profile on firefox. (firefox has profiles) I freaked out one time about this too, and I eventually found a link that helped me recover everything. So now, I save my file of bookmarks somewhere in case that happens again, I have somewhat of a recent file at my disposal.

Linux: because a PC is a terrible thing to waste.

Perfection is overrated. Knitting is meant to relieve stress, not cause it. Relax and enjoy it.

So sorry for the loss!!!!

You may want to upload the new ones to an online bookmark storage site.

I use ikeepbookmarks.com.

There is actually a way that you can restore your computer to a day and time in the past. That way you can recover the bookmarks.http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro.../faqsrwxp.mspx

I used to use IE...but the IE7 update just messed everything up...so I switched to Firefox.

I had no idea about the bookmark archives! Ill keep that information in mind!
