I just finished my shawl, and though i haven't posted in this thread, i found it very useful. Thank you everyone! So here's mine:

Can anyone tell me the approximate weight or amount of worsted weight or DK weight yarn they used to make their Candle Flame Shawl? I want to start one, but I need to know how much yarn to buy. Thanks.

I have been reading about ladies having trouble with row #29 & 30 of the candle flame pattern.
I got the correction for row 29, haven't tried it yet, but does the correction make row 30 work. It didn't have enough stitches either.
I have gotten as far as everyone else, and Iam determined to get it, it is so beautiful

Hi and welcome!
this the correction appearing on Ravelry for row 29:
Row 29: K4, (K, YO, K), K4, P2, (Sl 2-kl-p2sso), P2 repeat from NOTE! you won’t have enough sts left on the needles to complete the last repeat, so after the second K4 just end by CO 3 sts


I think it should fix row 30 as well. HTH

I really like this pattern! But I have the same question the person in March 08 had - how much yarn does this take? I didn't want to wade through 25 pages of old posts, and the linked pattern doesn't say...

I checked Ravelry (what a great source it is!) and saw that the ones using worsted weight used between 200-400 gr depending on the size of shawl you want, the needles you use and your particular gauge. HTH
