Though I learned the principles of sock knitting from Silver's tutorial, I completed my first actual pair of socks following along with Amy on her video, knitting the North Country Cotton Baby socks (on free pattern page here). When I first discovered this site (where I learned to knit), I purchased Amy's KnittingHelp.com CD . The sock tutorial was a bonus cd that came with it, and I knitted the sock in entirety while watching Amy knit it on the cd, pausing when necessary (often necessary, 'cause Amy's a speed demon knitter ). She has parts of that cd in the free videos here on the site. :D

I was new to knitting, and had never used DP's before - but this page walked me through my first pair of socks. It's a simple pattern that I've used many times since.

Shakey, I have also knit socks following that tutorial. Like Silver's, that one also has very good step-by-step instructions and close-up photos.
