I-cord bind off
What do I do with the last 3 sts?Do I just run the yarn through them and pull to knot?

I've always bound off as I normally would, not sure what others do?

Like fix_six I just bind off those last three stiches as normal stitches. You will get some stitches that are not attached, so be sure to leave a long tail so you attach those stitches and close up the hole between the start of the bind off and the end of the bind off (it is the only bad thing about the i-cord bind off).
