Good price for yarn?
I was just wondering if anyone knows where there is a website or store that sells cheap yarn. I'm going to make an afghan that requires quite a few skeins of Lion Brand Chenille and Lion Brand Wool Ease. I was hoping with so many experienced knitters on here there would be someone who knew the secret to good prices for yarn.

Now, I've never shopped with them, but have heard that Smiley's is inexpensive.

Discount Yarn Sale usually has some pretty good deals too because you buy the yarn by the bag, which would be good for an afghan.

I like them also, however, I would not order from them for a quick fix. As stated in their descriptions, they can take anywhere from 2 weeks up to six weeks to ship. Just an FYI

try www.discountyarn.com

they have limitd quatity and variety but their prices are GREAT, I had my order within 3 days of ordering. If they have "just what you want" you can't go wrong.

I actually made it out to Smiley's, it's BURIED in the heart of Brooklyn and a pretty heavy neighborhood. I was very disappointed in the store. Well, I don't use much acrylic and that's all they have. Have you looked at Michael's and Webs? And check ebay...

Smiley's
Wow! I didn't know they had a store in Brooklyn, I've only been to the one in Queens. Eitherway, it's a great spot for the novice knitter who's not quite ready to commit to the expense of natural yarns.

I'll still work portions of a pattern in acrylic just to see if I care enough about it to work it in cotton or wool!

Thanks for all your help! I researched and researched and for the particular yarn I needed Michael's was cheaper... no shipping and handling right by me. They didn't have all the colors I needed but I improvised. I appreciate everyones help!
