Just use a very nice DK or sportweight yarn in your stash, with size 8 needles, and cast on 3 stitches.
Then Knit 1, YO, and knit the rest of the row.
Repeat that row on every row.
When you get 4 inches complete, let us know, and we'll see who wants it next!

Sorry for not answering earlier....I was busy packing DH and getting him ready to leave.
I have a pretty orange colored sport yarn Im dying to find a idea for...and I think this may be it! Or I can use a brown...Ill go back and look at pictures...
Now I gotta go steal my size 8 needles back from DD...or finish the dishcloth on my set of 8s....

Anyway, I just thought it would be nice to have a soft furry yarn, and it's a little sparkly too. You want it? I'll be happy to send it to you!
Also, I thought I would put the rest of the ball of yarn in the package. Since it's a novelty yarn, and quite furry, I thought it might be fun if it reappeared later on- as the last row, perhaps, or just randomly throughout... I'll leave that up to the others who get the shawl. I thought we could all send it along each time, and whoever wants to use it, can. Or not, if no-one else thinks that's a good idea.

I'll be ready to send my shawl out on Friday morning. It's dark blue and a lighter blue, knit on size 9 needles. Any takers?
