Yarn shopping in Paris!
My DH is going to Europe in May for TWO weeks! Lithunaia, Prague, Berlin, and PARIS and I cant go...

Anyhoo....I begged him to bring me yarn....from Paris.

He looked at me like but agreed....so Im wondering what I may end up with as my present....

Has anyone bought yarn from other countries? Is there any difference?

I hope he finds some yarn for you in Paris, because in Prague i never found any. Me and DH went there for our honeymoon last October, it's a beautiful, absolutely wonderful place, but i never saw a single yarn store.
Hope for you he'll find something beautiful to get you

Sometimes in France yarn stores are named after the particular brand they sell. So Bergère de France, Phildar, Plassard, Bouton d'or, Anny Blatt, could be good keywords to look for.

This place is gorgeous!

DH told me last night that I needed to *gasp* teach him about yarn, so he didnt bring me home "any crap yarn" (his words)

I found that site this morning, and there are places in Paris..he so desperately wants to bring me something worthy of Paris.

Im so lucky to have him!

Hes also looking for places around here that I can get Texas grown/bred (?) wool. Since he knows Im sad theres no LYS here.

I can't give you any advice about parisian yarn stores, but I could probably find him a couple of good addresses in Berlin if you want.

While I've never been to Europe, I do shop on line a lot and found this seller who is based in Houston TX. I'm not sure where the wool comes from, but he dyes it himself and the sock merino is fabulous. Soft beyond belief.

Sure! in fact here's a link to a Berlin shop....you can already do some online shopping and pick out a few things.

http://wolle.wollkontor.de/

This one's easy: click on "shop" to get to the online shop. And at the bottom of the main page is the address. If you click on "stadtplan" there's a map to the shop.

If you PM me the hotel or the part of town your husband's staying at I can see if there's a yarn shop close by.
