Wrong size needle for pattern..
I am a broke college student and mom of a two year old. I have no money so I can't afford to go out and buy the needle size I need (size 15). I have a few options and I love them, so I would order them, but just can't right now.

My question is, if I only have a size 4,6,7 and 8, is there some way I can use those to try and get the right gauge? I want to knit the market bag from magknits with a dishcloth cotton.

Any ideas for me? I thought I could just wrap the yarn a few times, but wasn't sure if that would work.. anyone know?

I've never heard of wrapping twice to double the size of the stitch. I don't think it would really work. I suspect you'd end up with a regular size row and then an extra large row where you dropped the extra yarn.

I don't think you could successfully make something meant for 15 and achieve the same look. You could, I suppose, double the pattern and have smaller holes in the bag.

got a needle size gauge tool?- look for really fat novelty pencils, or buy cheap dowels at the hardward store and sand your own points. 15's are pretty big, so regular size pencils won't do it....

The dishcloth cotton is supposed to be knit with 8s, though I think that's too small, but it could be just me. If you have a JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby near you, they have 40% coupons. Most needles are only about $3-4 so with the discount would be $2-2.50. And Walmart prices needles under $3.
