I have three done. One needs to be blocked. I cast on for another tonight. I wanted to do at least a few more and send them early this week so I can be sure they will get there before the deadline. Does anyone have pictures of the ones they have finished? I would love to see them, I'll post mine as soon as I replace the batteries in my camera! Eloewien you're right they are addicting like chips can't knit just one!

I've finished three and am sending them off tomorrow. They look so much better in person than they do here. :( I remember reading something posted by the yarn shop regarding their plan to decorate the town with knitted items in the school colors, so if mine are used for that rather than a blanket, so be it. The maroon is Wool-ease; the burnt orange is Red Heart Soft.

I thought I'd corrected my accidental stockinette border on the Virginia one, and didn't see three errors until I viewed the picture.

The gingham was an experiment using a stitch provided by knittingonthenet.com; I found a mistake in the pattern, e-mailed the site owner at bedtime, and awoke to an e-mail reply and corrected pattern at the site! I'll visit her again. I love the gingham, but obviously I need to knit more loosely. The two different yarn types may be part of the reason for the misshapedness. I expect it'd look better with a border.

Zip those are great! Thanks for sharing!

I just finished another and didn't realize until I was done that it was too wide. It is 8.5 inches wide by 8 inches tall. Of course it is my favorite of the ones I have done so far! What do you all think? Should I send it anyways , should I frog and start over, or should I email Mosaic and see what they say? Thanks!

Thank you both! You're too kind.

Holly, I'd bet money that not all of the squares received will be exactly 8 inches square. My solid orange one is slightly larger than the other two. I'm certain that close to 8 is good enough and will be welcomed. Send it!

Purtyful!!!

I looked in my stash and realized that I have Plymouth Encore in both maroon and burnt orange, so OF COURSE I'm gonna have to knit a square or two.

I would SEND them to the shop... I have encountered this dilemma too b/c I am knitting and crocheting squares... and I can't keep the 8x8 measurement to save my life~!
SO .. I have thought about it so I am gonna send them ianyway and f they like them they can use them if not they can decorate the town with em~! or trash em if the case warrants its....So be it..

I certainly gave it my best effort and God knows that my heart was in the right place~!

When I looked at the photos on the shop website, there were squares of MANY sizes and shapes there. So, you should be good to go!

Check it out!
