1x1 Ribbing question
Hi all, I have started knitting the Knitty Fair-Isle cap and it says that a

1x1 rib is two rounds of [K1,P1].

Later on, in the instructions for the cap, it says to do 5 rounds of 1x1 rib. So, does this mean I have to do a total of 10 rounds of [K1,P1]?

Thanks.

No, just the 5 rounds. I don't understand what they mean 2 rounds = 1x1 rib? That's really odd. Unless they mean 2 rounds (or more) gives you the ribbing pattern.

Thank you so much! 10 seemed like a lot but I wasn't sure of doing only 5.

Here are the instructions.

1x1 Rib (Worked in the round over an even number of sts):
Round 1: [K, p1] to end.
Repeat this round for 1x1 Rib.

Oh, that's not saying that 2 rows make the rib, only that you repeat the first row because it defines the 1x1 ribbing.
