CO for double knitting
So I found a sock pattern that I absolutely adore but it calls for double knitting so of course I looked at the video but it only showed how to knit, not how to cast on or bind off.

I know that the entire video is shown on the CD that's for sale but I don't have that so I was wondering, could anyone tell me how to cast on for double knitting?

You could cast on like normal, only using two strands held together instead of one (if you want the material to be sewn together at the cast on part) and then knit like that - each 'stitch' cast on will actually be two, because you held two strands together as you cast on.

Now, if you are knitting socks inside each other, this has a good photo instruction on how to do that - the cast on will not connect the socks together.

What do you mean when it calls for double knitting? There's yarn called double knitting, and two techniques that are are called double knitting and there's a double cast on, which is longtail CO. So make sure you know what the pattern means.
