Sock-TopDown - Short Row heel ..help
Hi...
I am doing my first sock. I have the book Sensational Socks. I have decided I want to do a short row heel, and I happen to be knitting a top-down pattern.
Of COURSE, that is the one combination that is not directly dealt with in the book. Since I am pretty close to exactly ready (based on leg length) to start working the heel.. can anyone provide any insight as to how to read the Sens.Socks book and make it work for me, or any other sites ..OR if I am making my typical Mowntayn out of a molehill.

ANY hints or pointers? Or should I just wait until I can wrestle one of my working-knitting-buddies into paying attention to me next week??

THANKS!
Kath

Thanks for the links. Jan, thanks for the ShortRow tutorial since that is what I have decided I want to do - short row vs. heel flap.
I'll study that and see if that helps me see how to interrupt my top-down knitting, and to modify the pattern (not something I'm adept at) that I'm following from Sensational Socks. (It's a top-down, 6 stitch pattern, heel flap that I'm hoping to substitute the short row for...)

Thanks.
(And I'll try to come back and report.)

Kath
