how to choose length of dpn
I have never used dpns before. I'm planning to use them on projects in "itty bitty hats". They specify the 'size' but not the length.

Any ideas???

Double pointed needles don't come in a wide variety of lengths. I think 7" is good for most projects. I personally prefer the bamboo ones since they don't slip out of the stitches as easily as metal ones do.

They usually come in 5", 7", 8", and 10". The 7" and 8" are good for everything. I did knit a fair isle sweater in the round on some old 10" ones I have. You can use any length you want.

I am BAD
I buy a BUNCH of the 10" ones
and cut them in half if I need a shorter length, and just round the back ends (not even points)
I prefer shorter ones (WAY shorter than most, I have knit with 2.5" ones before)
but I am wierd like that
