why is some of the writing are in red and some are in blue

When the text is bold red it means they are either new posts or posts that have a new reply. After you have read a post it changes to plain red. If you reply it remains bold because it has a new reply (yours). Messages in purple are posts that have nothing new in them.

When asking questions ALWAYS post the name and a link for the pattern if you have it.
