simple cardi pattern?
looking for a simple, top down in the round cardi pattern. the yarn i have (24 balls) the label reads '50% linen-50% wintuk orlon acrylic, washable, 1 oz. pull skein ...5 1/2 sts = 1inch on No. 6 needles.' it looks about DK weight to me and no yardage on the label....
a short sleeve would be ok too, since this is for the summer TIA

Could you even do a cardigan in the round, since you need the front to be in 2 pieces?? You could, though, do one top-down, I think.

This one uses DK weight yarn, is pretty simple (stockinette stitch with wide rib edging), you could make the sleeves short, too. But it doesn't look like it's top-down. http://www.chicknits.com/catalog/cutaway.html

I don't know about the "in-the-round" either, aren't cardigans opened in front?

Here's a simple and free one from Lion Brand that I'm dying to try:

A top down raglan pattern is great - you can do the sleeves without seams too. Look for modifications to Glampyre's Minisweater/boobholder where it's been made longer and with longer sleeves.

Sitcom Chic from knitty is done back and forth on circulars too: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring03/PATTsitcomchic.html

You could easily extend the sleeves.

Hmm...I might make this one too!
