Double Strand knitting/1 ball of yarn

Is it possible to double strand knit with one ball of yarn?

Yes... I've done it several times.. Are you working w/ a skein or a ball? With a ball I've just taken both ends... let it unravel a bit and knitted.. it went very smoothly for me...

The other thing that you can do - although this will be a little more work is weigh the yarn on a food scale. Wind into a ball half the weight of the yarn. The you have 2 seperate balls to work from. I learned that trick at one of the LYS I went to once.

Thanks, Its a Skein of sock yarn and I'm only making a headband with it so don't need alot of yarn. Thanks for the speedy replies!
