I noticed that under peoples avatars it states senior member, junior member, or just member. What does this mean? How to you move up in membership?

That's correct. It's a ranking system based upon the number of posts you've made. Currently, it's just based upon the default ranking that was setup when we converted the forum, which has 3 ranks maxing out at 100 posts. We working on a million and one things right now, but soon will be changing it a bit to have more creative knitting-centric rankings with more overall ranks. Currently senior member is only 100+ posts. It doesn't take long for folks to reach that around here. So we got to fix that!

*preens* I'm a senior member!

Seriously, I was pretty surprised at that myself. I'll be put back in my place soon enough!
