You can download a free program through Amazon so you can read ebooks on your home computer or laptop. Barnes and Noble's NOOK has a similar download. But do grab this one while it's free. Amazon may charge for it in the near future. They offer free ebooks to whet your appetite for other paid books by the same author. You can get ebooks by popular writers. I've downloaded free books by authors such as Agatha Christie. I prefer ebooks now because I don't have to store them, cart the used ones off to a bookstore, or dust off shelves. I housecleaned and got rid of a bunch of books.
