How do you wind a "skein"?

I got a swift and winder last week and I've been using it like crazy to wind all my hanks of yarn. I love it! I do have a question - for yarn that comes in skeins (think Plymouth Encore) do you also roll that into tidy balls? If so, how?

You just wind it the same way, but you dont need the swift. Feed it through the tensioner and crank away! It's easiest if you can get the yarn from the center- you dont have to worry about the skein rolling across the room in the opposite direction!
