Neck and armhole bind off with ribbing
I'm knitting a ribbed openwork tank from Vermont designs and need to know about the bind off for the neck and armholes. The instructions only say to bind off, not, 'bind-off in pattern.'
Should I to follow the design pattern in binding off or do a straight bind off?
After joining the shoulders and underarm seams, stitches are picked up to finish the tank.
Thanks much!

Personally, if the edges that are binding off are to be used for seaming or for picking up stitches, I always do a regular knit bind off so that the edge is uniform. I find it easier if every stitch is the same.

If you don't bind off in pattern, you may make the edge wider or narrower. Doing a standard bo over ribbing will open of the edge making it wider/flatter. May or may not be noticeable.

The pattern added 2 rows of p from the PO stitches around the neck and armholes, then a p bind off. I just wanted to get this thing right since it is my first complete garment. Not perfect, but more than I thought possible!
