What a pain!

Well, at least it will probably get there by July 1st.

But, I agree with you. It's silly to pay extra if they aren't going to "deliver" on their promise. (pun intended! )

I have packed my box and am on my way to the Post Office as soon as i finish this post. I forgot to take a pic of everything, but here is a list of what i got finished:

2 child hats
2 adult scarves
4 neck warmers

Here is what my friends got finished:

4 adult hats
2 child hats

i hope my box doesn't run into the trouble yours did misha. i am using a flat rate priority mail box. at least i know if it doesn't make it in time for this years deadline, it will get sent next year.

thanks again for telling me about this Sandy.

I broke down & (guiltily) called F.I.R.E. The woman who answered the phone was incredibly nice. She explained that the post office holds the boxes for them, and someone picks them up a couple of times a week. This means that they don't always get scanned. She didn't have my packing list in her pile, but said she would call me back at the end of the week to let me know if they'd received it. I thanked her profusely for that (and asked several times if she was really ok w/that, since they're so busy).

And, on a really happy note, they've surpassed last year's total!!!

Edited to add:

Stacy just called me, and my box is there! She is made of awesome!

Yay!

Aren't you glad you called?

Just think, WE were part of helping them get over last year's total!

I finished knitting my hat but didn't send it out. :( But I decided that I will keep the hat and knit more items for next year and send it all together. My goal for next year is 10 items. At least I finished my hat before July 1
