Wallaby Q: joining hood

I'm about halfway finished with the hood on ,y first Wallaby. I noted that there are 2 option for joining the hood: Kitchener stitch and the same method of fusiing used to attach the pouch to the sweater front. Any suggestions, observations or preferences from anyone who has made the Wallaby?

i did it with the kitchener stitch. but i'm weird because i actually enjoy grafting that way.
