HELP: reading a Pattern Chart

I am knitting this baby blanket and having a hard time reading the given pattern chart. Please note that this is my first time reading a pattern off a chart. Am I supposed to read this pattern from left to right or right to left? Also, does this include both RS and WS rows? If it does, then how am I supposed to get the stockinette stitch pattern at some parts in this blanket. Maybe Im not seeing it as Im getting confused when I try to read the pattern. Could someone translate this pattern in the regular "Row 1 - 14: [K1, P1]5, *[K1, P1] K10, rep from * 5 times, [K1, P1]5" format? I would greatly appreciate this help!

Thanks a lot!

Rightside rows are read right to left; wrongside from left to right.

So your first row is

(p1,k1) 5 times for border; k10; (p1,k1) 5 times; (p1, k1) 5 times for border

Next row:

(k1,p1) 5 times for border; p10; (k1,p1) 5 times; (k1, p1) 5 times for border

Repeat these 2 rows 7 times.

By then you should be able to do the border rows without the chart--just keep doing the seed stitch by knitting the purls and purling the knits as they face you.

On the stitches between the borders, you'll work 10 stitches in seed stitch and 10 stitches in reverse stockinette for 14 rows.
