knucks
Hey, all you knitters who've made the knucks from knitty! What yarn did you use?

I'd have to drive into the city to get Rowan. Would it be better to use sock yarn or dk weight? I want to start them by tomorrow.

I think Angelia and Andrea made these ... but they used the Rowan yarn in the pattern ... I think it's a DK that you should use though.

Thanks! Maybe I oughta give 'em a shout out. I visited the designer's website and found a little info. The only yarn in my stash that matches the gauge is Paton's Lacette, but it's fuzzy.

My LYS suggested wool bamboo by Classic Elite and it's working out beautifully. I finished the first one tonight.

I topped it with the textured cuff instead of the ribbed cuff. The bindoff called for was a single crochet followed by a round of crab stitch. Uh... crochet? Not in this lifetime. Google led me to the Russian bindoff, aka the Icelandic bindoff. I love it! I may use nothing else in the future. Here a link. The only thing I can add to everything I found about it is - don't stitch it too loosely. I knit tightly, so I took extra care to stay loose and I think I'd like it better a little tighter than I have it.

On my way out of the LYS yesterday, I saw that they have a tiered basket stand FULL of a rainbow of Malabrigo. I petted it.
